This policy applies to everyone who uses sortedcarstrade.uk — registered dealers, private sellers,
and members of the public using the site to find a dealer or explore cars.
Using the site means you agree to these rules.
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs use of the SortedTrade platform
operated by SortedCars Trade Ltd ("SortedTrade", "we"). It applies to:
Registered dealers — businesses subscribed to SortedTrade and using its tools
Private sellers — individuals listing a vehicle for sale or requesting a valuation
Car seekers — members of the public browsing stock, finding a dealer, or using the AI chat
By accessing sortedcarstrade.uk or any service delivered through it, you agree to this AUP in full.
If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
2. Dealers using the platform
You may use SortedTrade to:
List vehicles from your stock for sale to the public
Communicate with prospective buyers via the AI chat agent
Manage appointments, deposits, payments, and compliance records using the MCP tools
Access vehicle data, MOT history, and buyer vehicle reports
Process FCA-regulated pre-contract disclosures and Consumer Duty obligations
You must not:
List vehicles you do not own or are not legally authorised to sell
Submit false, misleading, or materially incomplete vehicle information — including price, mileage, service history, or known defects
Use the platform to process transactions or payments through channels that circumvent SortedTrade's payment infrastructure
Use personal data about buyers obtained through SortedTrade for any purpose other than completing or managing the sale, unless you have a separate legal basis
Violate your FCA permissions, Consumer Duty obligations, or any applicable regulation
Use the MCP tools to automate actions that constitute market manipulation, price-fixing, or harassment of buyers
Share your API keys, dealer credentials, or admin access with unauthorised third parties
Operate multiple dealer accounts to circumvent usage limits or subscription terms
3. Private sellers listing a vehicle
When you post your car for sale, request a valuation, or ask us to connect you with a dealer:
You must be the legal owner of the vehicle or have explicit written authority from the owner to sell it
You must accurately disclose all known defects, damage, accident history, and finance outstanding against the vehicle
You must not list a stolen vehicle or one with a cloned registration plate
You must not misrepresent the mileage, service history, or specification
You must not list a vehicle that is subject to an unsatisfied finance agreement without disclosing this clearly
You consent to SortedTrade sharing your listing details (vehicle description, photos, asking price, contact method)
with registered dealers for the sole purpose of facilitating a sale or valuation
Listing a vehicle is free. SortedTrade is a connection service — we do not take a commission on private sales.
Any transaction is directly between you and the buyer or dealer.
4. Car seekers & general public
When you use SortedTrade to browse stock, find a dealer, or chat with the AI agent:
You must not scrape, crawl, or systematically copy vehicle listings, dealer data, or pricing information without our written permission
You must not submit false or speculative enquiries — for example, booking test drives with no genuine intention to attend, or requesting callbacks to obtain dealer contact details for commercial purposes
Dealer referrals and leads generated through the platform are for your personal use only — you may not resell, aggregate, or commercially exploit them
You must not harass, threaten, or send unsolicited commercial messages to dealers or other users via the platform
You must not use the AI chat agent to attempt to extract sensitive information about other customers, vehicle finance details, or internal dealer operations
5. Rules for all users
Regardless of your role, you must not:
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, database, API, or system component of the platform
Upload or transmit malware, ransomware, or any code designed to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorised control of systems
Conduct or facilitate denial-of-service attacks, credential stuffing, or brute-force attacks against any part of the platform
Impersonate another person, dealer, or business
Use the platform in connection with money laundering, fraud, vehicle ringing, or any other criminal activity
Circumvent or disable security controls, authentication flows, or rate limits
Use the platform in a way that violates any applicable UK law, including but not limited to the Fraud Act 2006, Computer Misuse Act 1990, Money Laundering Regulations 2017, and Consumer Rights Act 2015
6. Enforcement
SortedTrade monitors platform activity for compliance with this AUP. Where we reasonably believe a
violation has occurred or is ongoing, we may — without prior notice:
Suspend or permanently terminate access to the platform
Remove or withhold listings, payments, or API access
Preserve and disclose data to law enforcement or regulatory bodies where required by law or where we believe illegal activity has occurred
Termination for AUP breach does not entitle a dealer to a refund of prepaid subscription fees.
We reserve the right to pursue civil remedies for losses caused by wilful violations.
